The picture shows a small selection of the tiles in a Mah Jong set.

This group meets on the 4th Monday of each month at 1.45 pm for 2.00 pm until about 5.00 pm. Beginners are very welcome as full instructions are given.

The Western version of Mah Jong is essentially a strategic collecting game with hands such as Imperial Jade, Heavenly Twins and Unique Wonder. Dealing is done by building the Great Wall of China after first Twittering the Sparrows. I will provide a reference sheet to help players get started easily.

Although the Chinese often gamble large sums, we play for points so the only outlay is 50p for tea and biscuits.
